Tamara Howard ACMT MFHT

Advanced Clinical, Sports and Soft Tissue Massage Therapist

About me

I'm a fully qualified and insured Advanced Clinical and Sports Massage Therapist based in and around the Swindon area, Wiltshire.  I am also a Sports Massage tutor, teaching at the Cotswold Academy in Cirencester.  I absolutely love my job and am really passionate about what I do.

I completed my initial training at the Cotswold Academy achieving both my iTEC level 3 diploma and iTEC level 4 certificate in Sports & Remedial Massage Therapy.  In 2020 I also qualified in Advanced Clinical Massage Therapy learning Eastern and Western advanced bodywork techniques.  My additional qualifications include Hot and Cold Stone Therapy, Myofascial Cupping, Trigger Point Therapy, Kinesiology Taping, Dry Needling & Acupuncture Techniques for Sporting Injuries and I hold my Essential First Aid Certificate.

I am a member of the Sports Massage Association; the association for soft tissue therapists, holding full membership status due to my level of qualifications.

I am also a member of the leading professional association for therapists in the UK;  The Federation of Holistic Therapists and fully committed to the ongoing development of my skills and keeping my knowledge up to date by continuing my professional development (CPD).

I live an active lifestyle, frequently training in the gym, attending fitness classes or getting out for a run.  Rather than being a fitness fanatic, it's my love of food, enjoying spending time with lovely people, challenging myself and needing personal headspace that motivates me. It is all about balance!

In general I'm quite keen at doing DIY projects and I spend a lot of time in my garden.  This quite often results in me spending too much time in awkward positions and in need of a massage treatment myself!

During the winter months I like nothing more than to hit the slopes on either my snowboard or ski's.  It is priceless being able to spending time with family and friends in such beautiful natural surroundings.

I've personally felt the frustration of having an injury that has affected my training and also the effects of bad posture from sitting at a desk all day resulting in severe headaches.

I've experienced the positive effects that sports & remedial massage had on stopping the pain, promoting the healing process and preventing further issues.  Just one of the reasons I'm so passionate about this type of complementary therapy!
